World stars on new Dolf de Vries CD

Dolf de Vries’ latest CD, “Another Touch” was released in the Netherlands on 18 April. It consists of remakes of 11 smash hits performed by their original artists, including Georgie Fame, Billy Paul, The Three Degrees, Gary Brooker, and Mariska Veres. The musical direction and production has been completely taken care of by Dolf de Vries.

Original Artists Only

Seldom has one CD brought together so many pop music celebrities. Besides, all songs on it are performed by the original artists, so, for a change, this is not a CD featuring rehashed hits from the past that are performed by others. No way! “Another Touch” features stars who sing their own smash hits again. These are songs that are familiar to the ears of almost everybody, yet the total remake of the music will come as a surprise. Dolf had a tough job, though a magnificent one, rearranging and reproducing these well-known songs that have justified their existence already. They are world hits in a new, daring version. Working together with Dolf in the studio and recording their songs, all the artists put in 200 percent effort and love for the music and thus made these sessions unforgettable.

“Another Touch” has been made by The Dolf de Vries Trio and by:

* Georgie Fame - Sunny * Billy Paul - Me And Mrs. Jones * Gary Brooker - No More Fear Of Flying * The Three Degrees - Dirty Old Man * Marcel Kapteijn (Ten Sharp) - You * Eddie Floyd - Knock On Wood * Johnny Logan - What’s Another Year * Mariska Veres (Shocking Blue) - Venus * Madeline Bell - I’m Gonna Make You Love Me * Tavares - Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel * Tony Hadley (ex-Spandau Ballet) - Look At The Stars.

The Other Touch

Dolf’s musical hand can be recognised in all tracks on the CD. Listening to it from the beginning to the end, its new sound keeps surprising you. Each of the original versions had its own touch, but now all songs have been given a new and modern touch: in some cases they are slightly jazzy and generally they sound a little bit more lounge than the original performances.

A New Song
Dolf has added one new song to this CD with total remakes of big hits of the past. It is sung by Tony Hadley (ex-Spandau Ballet) with his recognisable and unique sound, and called “Look at the Stars”, referring to the 11 world stars on this CD.
