Eddie Floyd started making records in Detroit as a member of the band The Falcons. Ten years later, the singer-songwriter laid the foundation of his great success story by writing the evergreen “Knock on Wood”, with guitarist Steve Cropper. As an in-house songwriter for Stax Records he wrote songs for Otis Redding, Sam & Dave and Percy Sledge, amongst others. As a singer Eddie Floyd scored hits with the songs “I’ve Never Found A Girl”, “Things Get Better”, “California Girl” and “Knock on Wood”. Eddie Floyd still performs regularly as a member of The Blues Brothers and with Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings.
